What to expect?

Come take class with LFAC dancer, Faith Balderrama!

This 1.5hr Countertechnique® class is a contemporary dance technique class. It stretches, coordinates and strengthens the body, making dancers sweat, build stamina and really move. The class starts with a recurring set of exercises, allowing dancers to investigate the Countertechnique® principles in detail. The second half of the class consist of varied components, working towards luscious movement combinations, and sometimes including jumping at the end.

The Countertechnique® class results in dancers using more efficient energy, losing their fear of taking risks and gaining speed in both leel and directional changes.

What to expect?

Come take class with LFAC dancer, Nia Montgomery!

This is an 1.5hr open level class built to center dancers in the space as they connect their physical and emotional selves.

Class will start with a full-body warm up, followed by improv prompts, then a movement phrase. Expect to dive into elements such as rhythm, groundedness, and angular shapes, recognizing our internal response to our exploration.

By the end of class, dancers use the information learned to inform their movement with a unique physical representation of their emotional selves.

What to expect?

Come take class with LFAC dancer, Kara Hunsinger!

This class begins with a somatic warm up to awaken breath, sensation, and full-body awareness. You will then transition into guided improvisation, with clear compositional tools to explore impulse, choice, and dynamic range.  Finally, class will end with a phrase that serves as a flexible framework, inviting dancers to reshape and personalize the material through improvisational tools.

The focus of class will be on strengthening confidence in decision-making and deepening trust in intuition - supporting each dancer in discovering and embodying their unique artistic voice.

Class is open to all levels!
