Little Fire Artist Collective - J'Nae Howard
Originally from Nashville, TN, J’Nae found movement at an early age participating in competitive and recreational Track & Field and Cheerleading. These practices rooted discipline and determination in her everyday life resulting in her to never stop striving towards her dreams. Throughout various recreational dance classes provided by her public school, J’Nae decided to pursue the arts fully and begin training seriously at her performing arts high school. J’Nae found that practicing dance was more than a form of expression, but instead a healing practice and a form of communication for the artist and the audience. Thus, from there, the bar was set high to pursue a BFA degree in Dance from Southeast Missouri State, to further explore these ideals and continue to push the boundaries of what she thought was attainable for herself and her practice. She felt limitless embarking in the professional career, exploring concert dance with South Chicago Dance Theatre and the commercial dance industry with Virgin Voyages Cruise Line, grateful to work with powerhouse choreographers such as Kia S. Smith, Brandon Coleman, Jennifer Archibald and Sam Pinkleton. Now, as a guest artist with Hedwig Dances and pursuing theatre with Talent X Alexander, J’Nae is excited to keep pushing her limits to see how her little fire will continue to burn. Outside of the studio, J’Nae enjoys reading, crocheting and eating outside when it’s warm :)
