Little Fire Artist Collective presents

Kindling: An Evening of Dance Works

Friday, January 26th & Saturday, January 27th

Community is the foundation upon which our collective stands and we want to take a moment to extend our deepest gratitude to those who have been instrumental in making this performance possible.

A heartfelt thank you to Fulton Street Collective for providing us with the space to present Kindling: An Evening of Dance Works. We humbly acknowledge the sacred energy of this land, resonating with the Council of the Three Fires: the Ojibwe, Odawa, and Potawatomi Nations, known now as Chicago, and express gratitude for the opportunity to share in the richness of these energies through dance.

Thank you to Sean Roschman, Jonathan Alsberry, and Margie Gillis for hosting us in their trusted spaces and facilitating artistic exploration and creative processes. To Jaryd Jensen for enriching our collective with lighting design and videography, to Ren Picco-Freeman, for capturing the spirit of Little Fire through photography, and to Lieana Sherry, for unwavering support and volunteerism year after year.

To our community supporters, whether it be through financial support or simply spreading the word, your generosity and belief in us sustain our collective and ensure fair pay for our artists and collaborators. With your continued support, we aim to expand our artistic horizons to include additional production elements, such as costuming, for our future endeavors.

And finally, to our incredible collaborators, Laura Baumeister, Tina Diaz, Adeline “A” Else, Charlique C. Rolle, Ashley Rivette, and Jessi Stegall, we deeply appreciate your trust, hard work and dedication. Thank you for sharing your passion, creativity, and energy with us,

Thank you all for being here, thank you for believing in us, and thank you for being a vital part of our community.

With love and appreciation,

Little Fire Artist Collective

Summary

In an interaction between entities, we’ve found a constant of three elements: connection, embodiment and silence.

What fills the gaps between the three? Rhetorical.

Patience; It’s a virtue.

Context; What’s not being said.

Luck; I hope you know what I mean.

What is stillness? Another rhetoric.

Eyes. Dust. Leaves.

Who’s speaking? Literal.

You. Me. We.

Theme is 3.
