Nia Montgomery

Nia is a Chicago-based artist and educator who moved to the city in 2018 to study dance at Loyola University of Chicago. Over their four years, they worked with amazing choreographers and dance educators such as Rena Butler and Blakeley White-Mcguire, received university funding to research burnout in dancers and athletes, and graduated with a second degree in Advertising/PR. Two years post graduation, Nia transitioned out of corporate

advertising and into her dream job of educating dancers. Today you can find her around the city teaching ballet, jazz, modern/lyrical, and hip hop to dancers of all ages as well as training with The TRUP heels collective. Besides teaching, they channel their strong love for storytelling through teaching pop ups around the city, as well as building stories informed by her multiple identities and the human experience for the stage and screen. This is Nia’s first season with Little Fire Artist Collective. She is grateful to work side by side with such amazing members/choreographers in this collective and can’t wait to bring the works of Faith von Atzigen, Hanna DiLorenzo, and Jessi Stegall to this stage.
